Here are five more reasons to be excited about Evansville Otters baseball – I’m talking about the five players who will represent Evansville at the 2026 Frontier League All-Star Game

Catcher Logan Brown, third baseman Marcos Gonzalez, outfielder Jon Ponder, second baseman Amani Jones, and shortstop T.J. Salvaggio have all been voted to represent the Otters in this year's All-Star Game, which will be played Wednesday, July 15, at Thomas More Stadium in Florence, Kentucky.

Otters manager Andy McCauley says the honor is well deserved and a reflection of the hard work each player has put in throughout the season. He also said it's a great opportunity for the group to represent not only the team, but the Evansville community on one of the league's biggest stages.

Hometown Star Logan Brown Leads the Way

For local baseball fans, Logan Brown's selection is especially exciting. The Evansville native and University of Southern Indiana graduate has been one of the Frontier League's most consistent hitters this season. Through 39 games, Brown is batting an impressive .367 with 55 hits, 33 RBIs, and 17 multi-hit games. After spending several years in the Atlanta Braves organization, it's great to see the hometown product continuing to shine in an Otters uniform.

Marcos Gonzalez Continues His Strong Season

Marcos Gonzalez has been a force at the plate as well. The third baseman leads Evansville with 40 RBIs while batting .325, adding seven home runs and plenty of highlight-reel defensive plays. His professional journey has taken him through the Cleveland organization and Triple-A baseball before arriving in Evansville, and he's made an immediate impact.

Rookie Jon Ponder is Turning Heads

Rookie outfielder Jon Ponder has quickly become one of the Frontier League's breakout stars. He's hitting .379, which ranks among the league leaders, while leading the Otters in runs scored, hits, doubles, walks, stolen bases, and on-base percentage. Not bad for a player in his first professional season.

Amani Jones Delivers Night After Night

Amani Jones has been one of the team's most dependable players, appearing in nearly every game this year. He's batting .304 with 58 hits, nine doubles, four home runs, and 25 RBIs, giving the Otters another steady presence in the lineup every night.

T.J. Salvaggio Brings Power to the Lineup

Meanwhile, rookie shortstop T.J. Salvaggio has delivered plenty of power. He's driven in 37 runs while launching eight home runs, making him one of the club's top run producers despite playing in his first professional season.
