Stretch, Purr, Repeat: Cat Yoga Is Back at VHS!
Cat Yoga Is Back!
If your idea of motivation involves stretching AND being surrounded by cats, you’re in luck — cat yoga is officially returning for 2026!
After this being a fan favorite last year, Vanderburgh Humane Society is bringing back one of its most fun (and furry) events of the year. The first cat yoga session of 2026 is happening Friday, February 20th, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., inside the shelter’s Cageless Cat Lounge.
Here’s how it works: you’ll take a one-hour yoga class led by an instructor… while up to 30 adoptable cats roam around, nap near your mat, or decide your pose needs a little extra supervision. It’s equal parts workout, stress relief, and pure chaos — in the best way possible.
The class is open to all fitness levels, so whether you’re a seasoned yogi or someone who mainly stretches when reaching for snacks, you've got an excuse to stretch with some kitties. Kids 9 and older can join too, as long as they’re accompanied by an adult with a ticket.
A couple things to know before you go:
- Bring your own yoga mat or towel
- Space is limited, and these classes tend to fill up fast

And if you miss this one, don’t worry — more cat yoga dates are coming later this year at both the Humane Society and River Kitty Cat Café.
So if you’re looking for a workout that includes deep breathing, gentle stretching, and the occasional cat walking across your mat… yeah, this might be your sign. 🐾
