Local Taco Lovers Recommend The Best Spots In Evansville
Every City Needs That Taco Place — Help Me Find Mine in Evansville 🌮
One thing that truly makes a place feel like home is having those go-to restaurant staples you can count on, no matter the mood you’re in. You know the ones—the places you don’t even have to think twice about.
When I lived in Jackson, I had the taco joint. It was this tiny spot just a mile from my apartment with a drive-thru where you could order tacos or burgers, but in my opinion they had the best tacos. You could mix and match everything, which was perfect because I could never make up my mind. And of course, I also had my cozy diner breakfast place—this little diner just outside of town that felt like a reset button whenever I was having a bad day.
After moving to Indiana, I already had one important staple checked off: breakfast. Nellie's was that place for me before I even moved to Indiana, it means even more because my Great Aunt Shirley used to go there all the time. She passed away just last year, so now Nellie's feels like more than just a restaurant—it’s a connection and a comfort.
So now that I’ve found my cozy breakfast spot, there’s just one thing missing… a taco joint.
That’s where you came in.
I asked on our Facebook page where you think the best tacos in Evansville (and the surrounding area) are, and wow—you delivered. I decided to write them all down and turn this into a full-on taco mission. I plan on staying here for quite some time, so creating a gallery and crossing off these taco spots one by one feels like the perfect way to find my ultimate favorite, thanks to your recommendations!
