Celebrating Southern Indiana’s Marching Band Talent

Before I get to the poll results (I guess you could cheat and just scroll down to the bottom), I want to take a moment to celebrate every single one of the incredibly talented students in our local marching bands. These kids have been working their tails off since July, bringing their 2025 shows to life, and that hard work is finally paying off.

Over the next month, all of these Indiana marching bands will travel around the Hoosier State to attend the various Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) competitions. The goal is to end up at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, competing for a state championship!

Key Dates for the 2026 Marching Band Season

These dates will decide who takes home the 2026 ISSMA titles:

October 10 – Open Class Regionals
October 17 – Scholastic Class Finals
October 24 – Open Class Semi-State
November 7 – Open Class State Finals at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indy

Over the past couple of weeks, thousands of votes poured in for nearly 30 different Southern Indiana marching bands. It’s clear that our community has some serious band pride - and we absolutely love to see it.
