For over 150 years, the Reid family has been growing produce for the community and beyond. Like many of you, I grew up visiting the farm store to get an apple slushy or pick up a peck of free stone peaches.

I've made traditions with my own family of gathering strawberries in the summer and choosing the perfect pumpkin for the porch in the fall. This spring, our friends at the orchard have announced something new and exciting and absolutely BEAUTIFUL.

If you didn't already know, when it comes to flowers, Katie may have the greenest thumb around. Her ferns, hanging baskets, and other blooms are so happy and lush. She also grows a field of wildflowers that you can pick your own bouquets from. The butterflies LOVE it so much, it is magical to watch them float around.

"Months ago, we planted these tulips, just dreaming of bloom day." Katie shared. "I've loved watching every row come to life, and now it's time to share them with everyone." She went on to tell us that the best part of her job is seeing smiling faces enjoying the orchard as much as she does.

Starting tomorrow, you can make your own bouquet from Katie's U-Pick Tulip Field. It will be open Friday the 20th and Saturday the 21st from 10-4 both days. Admission is $10.00 per person, which includes 3 tulips of your choice. You can pick more for $2 a tulip. Kids 2 years old and under are free (no tulips included).

More U-Pick Tulip dates will be added, so be sure to follow Reid's Orchard on Facebook for information. They will have to see how many flowers are picked this weekend and predict when more will grow. Happy spring! and Happy picking!
