One More Reason to Love East TN — New Attraction Opens in Pigeon Forge
I like to keep track of the activity in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. And that absolutely means taking note of all the new goings-on in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.
In other words, I could almost type the above headline every single day. Seriously, do you keep up with everything new that happens in East Tennessee? It's mind-boggling how quickly and often they move on to the next thing. And the instincts of those in charge is so impressive. "Too much is never enough" could really be the motto for the entire region.
The Island in Pigeon Forge
The Island is a unique theme park, mixing in somewhat equal parts rides, shopping, and entertainment attractions.
Speaking of unique, the "new" has not worn off the most recent addition to The Island in Pigeon Forge, and with good reason. SkyFly: Soar America sort of diverts from what we're used to seeing outside of, well, EPCOT Center as the tour guide you're about to see describes it:
The Lost Mine Mountain Coaster & Mini Golf -- New in Pigeon Forge TN
Not only are the parts always moving in both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, but attractions WITHIN those two towns are, as well. The Island is forever growing, and Monday, November 20th saw the grand opening of The Island in Pigeon Forge's newest attraction(s)--the Lost Mine Mountain Coaster & Mini Golf.
Perhaps the most attractive part of The Island in Pigeon Forge--and multiple other attractions, as well--is the fact that there basically isn't a season. You can enjoy The Island year-round. And, for heaven's sake, Christmas is coming, and The Island--just like the rest of Pigeon Forget--is in full-on holiday mode:
Do you like coasters in the winter? Do you like RIDES, in general, throughout the year? Do you just LOVE Pigeon Forge?
Did you pack and jump in the car and not finish this story because you're on your way to the Smokies?
