Country Music Star Chris Janson Will Play Free Concert in Owensboro, KY

The City of Owensboro recently announced plans for the 2nd Annual BBQ & Barrels Festival downtown. The popular, mouth-watering event is set to return Friday, May 10th and Saturday, May 11th in downtown Owensboro.

Now, there's even more exciting news!

As you may know, the Owensboro Convention Center is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. Over the last decade, the center has been home to incredible concerts, conventions, craft markets, sports tournaments and popular fundraisers and special community events. There's about to be another one and this one may be the biggest in the convention center's history.

The Owensboro Convention Center is teaming up with The City of Owensboro to bring country music star Chris Janson to town and, to celebrate the entire community and welcome them to the front lawn of the center, the concert is FREE!

Chris Janson will be taking the stage on the closing night of BBQ & Barrels. That concert will kick off at 5:30pm on Saturday, May 11th with an act TBD. Hannah Ellis, a UK grad and Campbellsville, Kentucky native, will take the stage at 6:30!

Then, country music superstar Chris Janson will hit the stage at 8pm to bring BBQ & Barrels to a thrilling and rocking close!

Chris burst onto the country charts back in 2015 with "Buy Me A Boat"- his firs Top Ten hit.

Since that time, he's also cracked the Top 10 with "Fix A Drink," "Drunk Girl," and his latest "All I Need Is You. He also landed two songs at #1!

The Chris Janson concert is absolutely FREE to the public, but we have some additional exciting news to share. WBKR has partnered with the City of Owensboro and the Owensboro Convention Center for a special VIP, standing room only section in front of the stage. We'll be giving exclusive access to 92 lucky people who will join us there for Chris' concert. Stay tuned for details on how you can win!
