Daviess County Community Asked to Help Find Beloved Stuffed Animal Named Peanut
Remi McDaniel’s story has stayed with many people since her passing, and now her family is asking for help with something very special to her little brother, Dexter. A small blue elephant named Peanut is missing, and they are hoping the community can help bring him home. Here's how you can help.
This beautiful family means so much to me. Let’s bring Peanut home.
Remi’s Story and Her Legacy
Remi Faye McDaniel bravely fought an incurable brain tumor for 16 months before passing away on December 7th, 2023. During her battle with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, she showed a strength and faith that never faded, even in her hardest moments.
She had a way of bringing joy to others, no matter what she was going through. Remi would still smile, laugh, and think of other people even when she was sick. Her faith stayed strong throughout her journey, and she was surrounded by love until she passed peacefully at home with her family. Her legacy continues through the people who love her most.
She was a special little girl.
A Keepsake That Means Everything
For Remi’s little brother Dexter, who never had the chance to meet his sister, a small blue elephant stuffed animal named Peanut carries a special connection to her. It is not just a toy. It is something that represents his sister and a bond he never got to experience in person.
Losing it has been very hard for the family, and they are hoping someone in the community may have seen it or picked it up.

Where Peanut May Have Been Lost
Peanut went missing sometime yesterday morning. There is a chance he may have fallen along Winkler Road, King Road, Pleasant Grove Road, Field Road, or Thurston Dermont.
Neighbors in the Thorobred East and Normandy Heights areas are also being asked to keep an eye out, especially around Aristides.
Peanut is a small blue elephant stuffed animal, and he could be anywhere along those roads or nearby.
