If you can't adopt, there are many other ways you can make a difference for homeless animals. Don't forget that local shelters always need donations. Beyond monetary donations, you can always drop off dog or cat food. Cat litter, dog beds, food/water dishes, treats, along with towels and blankets. You can always reach out to the shelter directly to see what's needed most at any given moment. You can mail a check directly to the shelter as another good option.
