Fair season is upon us and there's one fair food you gotta get your hands on because I said so.

I've been mentally, physically, and emotionally preparing for fair season all year—yes, I will happily sweat my butt off walking my way through festival grounds just to find the best eats.  And this year, I'll do it again just to get a taste of giant corn dogs, cream puffs, gigantic lemonades, fried pickles, Oreos, and elephant ears, duh!

Now listen.  I've had a lot of fair food in my life.  But there's one item that tops it all.

It's big.  It's juicy.  It might be $25 at some fairs, but I don't care.  It's worth every penny.

It's.... a giant turkey leg.

I make sure to throw my stretchy pants on before I go to any fair because I need to make all the room I can!  Turkey legs aren't for the faint of heart.  It's a whole mission just to finish it.  One time, it took me like 3 hours to finally get down to the bone—that's how much meat is on this bad boy.

This is me last year at Country Thunder in Wisconsin.  The turkey leg was $25, but the best $25 I've ever spent.  Yum, yum, and freakin' yum.

It's smokey, salty, and had the perfect crisp on the outside.  Boy, was I happy.

If you're headed to any fair this year, don't pass up a giant turkey leg!  You'll be kickin' yourself the whole way home wondering why you didn't buy one.  Thank me later!
