Since the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations first began its "Most Wanted" program, 521 fugitive have been captured. Before being included on the TBI's "Most Wanted" list, there are certain criteria that must first be met. According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations:

1. The crime must have been committed in Tennessee and the crime committed must be a “violent felony” and/or major drug trafficking crime (Class A felony); and
2. The perpetrator must have been identified, and a warrant must be on file for the perpetrator’s arrest; or
3. The perpetrator has escaped from a Tennessee jail or detention facility; or
4. The perpetrator must have escaped from the Tennessee Department of Correction.
5. The Director or his designee must approve the addition of the fugitive to the “Top Ten Most Wanted” list.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigations Most Wanted Fugitives

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigations says the following fugitives should be considered armed and dangerous. They say these people should be "approached with extreme caution.
