Ray Leo’s At Lamasco Opens With A Small But Mighty Menu
A new bar is opening in Southern Indiana, and yes, I am already emotionally invested.
Ray Leo’s at Lamasco is officially opening its doors on Wednesday, January 28, beginning at 4:00 PM, at 1331 W. Franklin Street.
The team originally planned a three-day soft opening over the weekend, but a major snowstorm had other ideas. After just one soft-opening night on Friday, Ray Leo’s is moving forward and asking early visitors for a little patience as they continue to work out the kinks.

A New Spot With Deep Local Roots
Ray Leo’s at Lamasco is named after the grandfathers of co-owner Jeramiah Galey, and the bar is a partnership between Galey and fellow Evansville restaurateur Derek Ungethiem.
Galey is also the owner of Bad Randy’s Hot Chicken & BBQ Lounge, located just across the street, making this stretch of Franklin Street even more interesting for food lovers.
A Small Menu That Goes Big On Flavor
According to Ray Leo’s, the kitchen menu is intentionally kept small, filling, mostly made from scratch, and as they put it, “smack ya mama good.”
Among the early menu teasers shared from the soft opening:
- Korean Corn Dog: beef dog, mozzarella, yeast dough breading, panko breadcrumbs, Fritos, Hot Cheetos, gochujang mayo
- Thai Chili Dog: garlic pork sausage, red cabbage, ground peanuts, sweet Thai chili, cilantro
- Tiger Fries: fries, mozzarella, cheddar, queso, comeback sauce, squid ink mayo, green onion
- Sonoran Dog: bacon-wrapped beef dog, jalapeño salsa, mayo, mustard, kidney beans, grilled onions, cheese-stuffed bacon-wrapped banana pepper
- Margherita Focaccia: focaccia, tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, Romano

Yes, The Korean Corn Dog Has My Full Attention
I had my first Korean corn dog at Bonnaroo in 2023, and I still remember that first bite. The cheese pull. The crunch. The immediate realization that my life had changed.
I have been on the hunt for that same experience locally ever since, and seeing a Korean corn dog land on a menu in Evansville immediately grabbed my attention.
If Ray Leo’s delivers even a fraction of that first-bite magic, I am all in.
What To Know Before You Go
Ray Leo’s is holding its Grand Opening at 4:00 PM on January 28, and the team has asked guests to be patient as they ramp up operations after the weather-disrupted soft opening.
