Rescue Dogs and Classic Cars Take Over Friedman Park This September
Grab your four-legged best friend and get ready for the return of the annual Muttminster Rescue Dog Show presented by Lux Motors and Townsquare Media.
Celebrate Rescue Dogs at the Muttminster Dog Show
Forget about those purebred pups they show off on TV. Around here, rescued is our favorite breed, and on September 6, 2025, we'll partner with Daisy's New Beginnings to celebrate the rescue dogs in our community with the Fourth Annual Muttsminster Rescue Dog Show.
The judges won't be looking at pedigrees because the Muttminster Rescue Dog Show is for rescued dogs only! Everyone is welcome, even the family pet. Muttminster Rescue Dog Show will take place at the Friedman Park Event Center in Newburgh. The event is free for spectators, and there will be adoptable animals on site waiting for their forever homes.
How to Enter Your Dog in the Show
For those who wish to participate and parade their paws, pre-registration is required. Muttminster Rescue Dog Show will award prizes to both rescued pets and adoptable shelter dogs awaiting their forever homes, in five categories:
- Best Dressed - Open to Rescued Dogs Only
- Best Hair - Open to Rescued Dogs Only
- King - Open to Shelter Dogs Waiting to be Adopted
- Queen - Open to Shelter Dogs Waiting to be Adopted
- Best in Show - Open to All Dogs
A $10 donation is required to preregister your pooch, and the proceeds go to Daisy's New Beginnings to help area rescue dogs in need. Spots for the Annual Muttminster Rescue Dog Show will fill up fast, so register your pup today!
Meet Daisy’s New Beginnings
Daisy's New Beginnings is an area 501c 3 non-profit with a passion for helping. The organization works to help provide emergency veterinary care for homeless animals in our local pet shelters and rescues, including It Takes a Village No-Kill Rescue, New Hope Rescue, Humane Society of Henderson County, Warrick County Humane Society, and PAAWS.
Whether it is helping a dog in a shelter get the major medical care required so that it will be able to find a loving home, or just trying to find an owner a companion dog that makes each day happier. Our mission is to provide the financial assistance needed to create opportunities for a fresh start for both the dogs and people who need our help the most. When a shelter or rescue receives a dog that requires major medical care in order to become eligible for adoption, our mission is to help provide the financial resources required to make that happen
The winners for the Muttminster Rescue Dog Show will be determined by a panel of "esteemed," "celebrity" judges and animal rescue advocates.
The live dog show will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 11 am to 1 pm. During the show, participants will walk the arena to determine who will go home as the top dogs. There will be food trucks and adoptable dogs from several area rescues on-site, looking for their forever homes
Lux Motors Car Show Rolls In with Trophies and Style
In addition to the Muttminster Dog Show, Lux Motors will once again be hosting a car show on the grounds of the Friedman Park Events Center, the same day, with all proceeds going to Daisy's New Beginnings. Register your car for only $15 in advance or $20 the day of the show. On-site car show registration will be held from 9 am to 11 am, with judging at 11:30 am, and awards presented at 1 pm.
Lux Motors knows how to host a car show, and there will be dash plaques and Lux Motors t-shirts for the first 100 entries, and beautiful trophies! Awards will be given away in the following categories:

Enjoy Food Trucks and a New Craft Fair
In addition to a half-pot, door prizes, and food trucks, new for 2025, visitors to the Muttminster Rescue Dog Show and the Lux Motors Car Show will be able to enjoy a craft fair from 9 am - 1 pm. Later that night, the festivities will move to Pat Coslett's Furniture in Evansville for the How Wing Contest to raise money for Daisy's, too!
