This Evansville Exhibit Feels Like South America
If you are already over winter, this might be the closest thing to a tropical getaway you will find without leaving Evansville.
Mesker Park Zoo and Botanic Garden has announced the return of Orchid Escape, transforming the Amazonia Exhibit into a colorful South American-inspired display filled with hundreds of blooming orchids.
A Warm Tropical Break From Winter
For four weeks, visitors can step inside Amazonia, where it stays a comfortable 75 degrees year-round. While temperatures outside may still feel gray and cold, inside you will find vibrant orchids arranged in artistic displays throughout the exhibit.

The experience is designed to feel like a journey to South America, giving guests a chance to slow down, explore, and soak in the warmth.
Orchid Escape runs from February 15 through March 14, daily from 9 am to 4 pm. The exhibit is included with general admission and is free for active Zoo Members.
What To Expect Inside Amazonia
Amazonia is already one of the most immersive spaces at Mesker Park Zoo, home to lush greenery and a tropical climate. During Orchid Escape, that environment becomes even more vibrant with hundreds of orchids in bloom.
It's the kind of experience that works for families, date nights, photographers, or anyone who needs a break from winter weather.
If you find an orchid you love, you may even be able to purchase one in the Zoo gift shop while supplies last.
