LGBTQIA+ Youth in Evansville Area Invited to First Ever Rainbow Formal
Greater Evansville Youth and River City Pride are partnering to host a formal dance for area LGBTQIA+ youth in the Evansville community.
A Dance for LGBTQIA+ Youth Grades 6 - 12
For the first time ever, Greater Evansville Youth, along with River City Pride will host a formal dance centered around safety and inclusivity for those in sixth through twelfth grades and will include a ton of fun.
The dance will feature snacks, a DJ, photo booth, games, and a drag show! A supervised quiet area will be available to accommodate sensory needs. We are so excited to offer a safe opportunity for a special night of fun, dancing, and community for local LGBTQIA+ youth!
Keeping the Event Safe
Ensuring that the event is a safe space for area LGBTQIA+ youth, Greater Evansville Youth and River City Pride are taking extra steps.
To ensure safety, dance attendees must be able to prove they are between 6th and 12th grades and provide an emergency contact at check-in. Additionally, all adult chaperones are background checked, and security will be provided on-site.
When and Where is the Rainbow Formal Taking Place
The first-ever Rainbow Formal will take place on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at the Westside Community Center, located at 2227 West Michigan Street in Evansville, Indiana. The event will take place from 6 to 9 pm.
How to Get Tickets to the Rainbow Formal
Tickets for the Rainbow Formal are available for just $10 per person (+ processing fees) and the proceeds go towards offsetting the cost of planning the event.
