The bridge is utilized by nearly 6,000 cars each day. according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet in a post on social media. Authorities say that the bridge in question will be closed "indefinitely," citing the need for engineers with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to further examine the bridge.

The length of the closure is indefinite while KYTC engineers examine possible deterioration issue with the bridge's steel substructure.

Canoe Creek Bridge Closed Indefinitely

The bridge in question is located in Henderson, Kentucky and was first built in 1983. Known as the Canoe Creek Bridge, the bridge spans a portion of Kentucky 812, also known as Clay Street in Henderson.

Detours Due to the Bridge Closure

While the Canoe Creek Bridge is closed, traffic can expect to be diverted. The nearest accessible bypass can be found by way of Kentucky 2098, also known as Washington Street. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet points out that Washington Street can be accessed via Hicks Street or by utilizing Kentucky 2084.

The nearest bypass of the bridge would be via KY 2098 (Washington Street), which can be reached by taking Hicks Street on the west side of the bridge or KY 2084 on the eastern side.
