Flatland Cavalry Coming To Evansville

Texas Country and a little Americana, that's what you'll get from Flatland Cavalry. The group from Lubbock, Texas, is making its way to the Hoosier state! Basically, a bunch of talented musicians going to school at Texas Tech and Midland College decided to put a band together, and now we have Flatland Cavalry. They chugged away, playing the college music scene in Texas, and gained quite a following. Their first EP, Come May, was released in 2015 and was completely funded by fans through a crowdfunding platform. The group raised its $5,000 goal in only eight days, a true testament to the power of fan support. Often compared to the likes of the Turnpike Troubadours, these groups are keeping traditional country alive. The release of their debut EP, in conjunction with their first full album in 2016, Humble Folks, launched the group onto the national stage, where they've been touring ever since. Since their start, the band has released an additional three complete albums and one EP. Who doesn't love a little violin in the band? I think this is a cool feature of their sound, even though the original violinist, Laura Jane, left the group in July of 2018; her replacement, Wesley Hall, has truly stepped up and kept the unique sound going.
