This week's Pet of the Week from the Vanderburgh Humane Society is a sweet girl who has been living at the shelter since April. While the staff has been taking fantastic care of her during her time there, it's time for her to find a permanent family like yours. Meet Emma.

Emma's Story

Emma is a lovable 7-year-old who has been overlooked by visitors to the Humane Society looking to add a new pet to the family, which, unfortunately, is not uncommon for older dogs as puppies and younger dogs tend to steal the spotlight with visitors because they're just so darned adorable.

But, as you can tell from the video above, Emma is pretty darn cute too. According to the Vanderburgh Humane Society, she's a 7-year-old who knows how to sit and shake and loves the water. So, if you're someone who enjoys the lake or river life, Emma may just be the perfect companion for you. She loves belly scratches, plays nicely with other dogs, is crate-trained, and seems to be housetrained as well! The one thing she's not good with is cats, so if you have one (or more) at home, Emma may not be the right fit for you.

Emma's adoption fee is $150. She’s already spayed, up-to-date on everything, and ready to go home today.

If you'd like to get a jump on the adoption process for Emma, or any of the animals the VHS offers that you might be interested in, you can fill out some of the paperwork in advance on the VHS website.
