Happy Pi Day! Let's celebrate by taking a look at the best pie in Indiana.

As you know, today is March, 14th. This means that it's the annual is "Pi Day." For those who don't remember what the mathematical term pi means, here's a little refresher from PiDay.org:

Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th (3/14) around the world. Pi (Greek letter “π”) is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant — the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter — which is approximately 3.14159. Pi Day is an annual opportunity for math enthusiasts to recite the infinite digits of Pi, talk to their friends about math, and eat pie.

It's how we honor Pi Day. Yelp has created a list called the Best Pie in Every State, and when it comes to the Hoosier state of Indiana, the pie that was named the best is one that you would probably never expect.

What is the Best Pie in Indiana?

According to Yelp, the best place to get pie in Indiana is Pots & Pans Pie Co. in Indianapolis. Yelp says this about Pots & Pans Pie Co.:

Pots & Pans is an Indianapolis, IN bakery specializing in seasonal sweet and savory pies. Our goal is to bring the best local ingredients and flavors to your table through pies of all kinds. We won't insist that we are better than your grandma, but we hope we can come close! Come visit our shop at 49th and College, or check us out at a local farmer's market!

Pots and Pans Pie Co. offers a variety of rotating sweet pies and savory pot pies. All of these are delicious in their own right, I'm sure. However, Yelp says that the flavor people rave about the most is rather unique. It's the biscuits and gravy pot pie.

So, if you're looking for the best pie in Indiana, you'll find it in biscuits and gravy pot pie form. It's not the type of pie that I was expecting, but I am a sucker for biscuits and gravy, so I'd gladly try it. I'm not going to lie, I went down a rabbit hole looking at their menu. More specifically, their take and bake pot pies. They all sound delicious.
