Whether it's good or bad, the internet is talking about Indiana cities, and that trend continues. Now, let's talk about Boomtowns. You might be wondering what exactly a Boomtown is. According to GoBankingRates:

Boomtown. The word sounds like it’s describing an explosion — and in a way, it is. Boomtowns are considered the fastest-growing cities in America due to rapid business and population growth. An example of such a place is Woodbridge, Virginia, which saw massive five- and eight-year percentage changes in population at 863.35% and 840.66%, respectively.

Okay, so there's a good example of a Boomtown for you, but what about the biggest Boomtown in our home state of Indiana?

The go-to city has to be Indianapolis, right? Maybe it's Carmel? We hear a lot of great things coming out of Carmel. Oh! What about Fort Wayne or a city in Southern Indiana like Newburgh or New Albany? Well, if you were thinking about any of those cities, you'd be wrong.

According to GoBankingRates, the biggest Boomtown in Indiana is Westfield. This city is located just north of Indianapolis and Carmel. GOBankingRates found Indiana's Boomtown by looking at the one-, five- and eight-year changes in population, occupied housing units and owner-occupied housing units of cities with a population of more than 25,000 but less than 500,000. Here's the stats on Westfield:

• Change in population:
• 1 year: 9.71%
• 5 years: 33.28%
• 8 years: 46.53%
• Change in occupied housing units:
• 1 year: 9.79%
• 5 years: 33.43%
• 8 years: 46.76%
• Change in owner-occupied housing units:
• 1 year: 13.47%
• 5 years: 36.91%
• 8 years: 46.25%

Being from southern Indiana, I don't get into that area of the state often. That being said I have been to Westfield in the past and it is a nice place, from what I saw of it. However, it still wasn't the first city that came to my mind as the biggest Boomtown in Indiana. What about you?
