New Study of Most Infested Cities Includes 3 Indiana Cities

There's another recent study of the 50 cities across the U.S. with the highest probability of running into these nasty creatures known as bed bugs, and three Indiana cities are among the most infested.

You've most likely heard your parents say "sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite" when they tucked you into bed as a child. Nine times out of ten, bed bugs weren't something that people really had to worry about in their homes. Heck, you might have thought that it was just a dumb saying that your parents would just say for the fun of it. However, bed bugs are very real. According to Orkin:

Now, you'll see that I cited Orkin just now, and that's important to note. You might recall that recently I shared a ranking by Orkin of the worst bed bug places in America. Indianapolis was pretty high on that list. This article isn't a rehash of that study. This is a new ranking by another pest control company Terminix. If you look at their "top 50", you'll see Indianapolis mentioned once again, but you'll also see a little bit of a difference when it comes to the other two cities mentioned.

Three Indiana Cities Among the Most Infested with Bed Bugs in the U.S.

Using service data from more than 300 branches across the country, Terminix identified 50 cities where residents had the highest number of bed-bug control services. Out of all of the 50 cities on this list by Terminix, you'll notice three Indiana cities. Two of those three were also on Orkin's list. However, the third Indiana city is one that causes some concern to me as it includes a city that folks in my neck of the woods are quite familiar with.

According to Terminix, Indianapolis ranks a little lower on this list compared to Orkin's. The capital city comes in at number 12. Then, another Indiana city which is on both lists, South Bend-Elkhart comes in at number 39. South Bend was ranked at number 28 on Orkin's list. Finally, coming in at number 50, is none other than Evansville. A place where I work, and many people that I know live. Evansville was not mentioned at all on Orkin's list. So, it came as quite a surprise when I saw the city on the Terminx list.
