Kentucky Renaissance Festival Returns And How You Can Audition To Be A Part Of It
Kentucky Renaissance Festival Dates And Info
If you have never been to a Renaissance Festival, I highly encourage you to check one out. Lucky for you, the Kentucky Highland Renaissance Festival is coming up May 30th through July 19th in Eminence, Kentucky. Believe it or not, this is the 21st year for the festival. In fact, they're holding auditions on February 21 and 22 for anyone daring enough to call themselves a Renaissance Man. I've only attended a Renaissance Festival once, in Texas, during a rainstorm, and fire ants attacked me. Even with several factors working against me, I still had one of the best times ever! I learned several things that day, including how to correctly shoot a bow and arrow and the appropriate time to say, "My Lord". Several participants were dressed in costumes from the era, adding to the ambiance of the event. For the Kentucky Highland Renaissance Festival, costumes are certainly encouraged but not required. On a side note, many costumes include sword adornments, which are also permitted, but they must be sheathed and peace tied.
How To Get Tickets And Audition Information
Tickets for the Kentucky Highland Renaissance Festival are available on their website. For questions about the festival, you may contact them via email at events@kyrenfaire.com. Whether you've participated in a Renaissance Festival before, have a knack for acting, or just think it will be cool, let me encourage you to tryout. Auditions will include a one to two-minute dialogue on any Renaissance topic and an improvised skit with one of their cast members. They are also looking for Renaissance musicians, requesting 16-32 measures of a Renaissance-style song. Best of luck, and we'll see you at the Renaissance Festival!
