Devils Market House Arch looks like it fell from the sky and landed right in the middle of a Kentucky forest. It's quite the sight!

Kentucky's Natural Arches

Kentucky is home to dozens of natural arches, in fact, according to a geological survey from the University of Kentucky the Bluegrass State is known to have the most natural arches of any state east of the Mississippi.

Kentucky is considered to have the most natural arches in the country east of the Mississippi River. Natural arches can be found at Carter Caves State Park, Natural Bridge State Park, Cumberland Falls State Park, and Big South Fork National Recreation Area in eastern Kentucky.

UK has created a fascinating interactive map where you can see many of Kentucky's natural arches.  One natural arch is gorgeous, but has quite a unique name, the Devils Market House Arch. However, you'll have to travel to Daniel Boone National Forest to view it.

The Daniel Boone National Forest is spread across 21 counties in Eastern Kentucky.  The forest is home to more than 708,000 acres of forest with more than 600 trails to choose from.

From over 600 miles of trails to two federally recognized wildernesses and more than 250 recreation sites, the Daniel Boone National Forest provides countless opportunities to explore eastern Kentucky's landscape, heritage, and culture.

Devils Market House Arch

Located in the middle of Daniel Boone National Forest is a sight that looks like it fell out of the sky and just landed in the middle of the forest.  The natural arch or "rockhouse" as some like to call them, is called Devils Market House Arch.  Now don't let the eerie name fool you, this arch is quite gorgeous and worth the trip to see.

A trail that leads to a stunning natural arch is located in Menifee County, Kentucky.  According to All Trails, the trail that leads to Devils Market House Arch is roughly 2.2 miles out and back but is a relatively easy trail for folks to visit.

This route features a beautiful ridge hike that leads to an amazing arch. The trail surface is a mix of forest roads and primitive trails but it is not very well marked. It is suggested to keep the downloaded map handy to help navigate. At the end of the path, you will be greeted with an incredible view of the Devil's Market House Arch.
