Peace's Story

If you're looking for a cat that will actually want to be around you and won't look at you like it's plotting your demise, Peace is your girl. According to the Vanderburgh Humane Society, she's 2-year-old female who loves people and will follow you around at a gingerly pace until you notice her. As you can see from the video above, despite her laid-back nature, she still has some spunk in her and likes to play with toys. When she's not following you around or playing, she can be found snoozing in her spot at the café – a honey pot cat cave, right next to the window.

Right now would be a great time to adopt Peace as her adoption fee is only $50 thanks to the Bissell Pet Foundation who has partnered with the VHS and other shelters around the country to offer discounted pet adoptions. Normally, her adoption fee would $80. Plus, all the things that are included in the normal adoption fee is still included in the discounted version (up-to-date vaccinations, microchipping, spay, and more). Although, I'm not sure the cost will also include her favorite sleeping spot, honey pot cat cave, but you could always ask.

If you'd like to get a jump on the adoption process for Noel and Mistletoe, or any of the animals the VHS offers that you might be interested in, you can fill out some of the paperwork in advance on the VHS website.
