All Makes and Models!

The Vanderburgh Humane Society (VHS) in Evansville has pets of all shapes and sizes. Or, as Executive Director, Kendall Paul likes to say when she stops by the studio on Thursdays, "all makes and models, and all certified pre-owned." They also have them in all ages, from puppies and kittens that are literally weeks old to dogs and cats who have been around awhile. So there is a very good likelihood that the VHS will have a pet that fits your lifestyle! Each week we feature a pet of the week with the VHS, and this week's pet is a young kitten named Kurt!

A Big Name for a Small Guy

There's something about animals with people names that I just love. This little kitten's name is Kurt.  I've never met a Kurt who wasn't a grown man, so I love that this adorable little tabby has such a big name.  It's funny, and according to the VHS it's fitting of his personality.

A few fun facts: All orange cats are tabbies, but not all tabbies are orange. Some orange cats are so lovey-dovey, they are affectionately referred to as “velcro cats.” They are prone to Orange Cat Behavior, making them generally endearing, often derpy and occasionally spicy, Meet 4-month-old Kurt… He’s an orange tabby through and through! His $80 adoption fee includes his neuter, microchip, and up-to-date vaccines. If Kurt doesn’t check off all the boxes, you’re sure to find someone who does in our cageless cat room at the VHS! Visit to see all adoptable cats, dogs and other critters.

Check out Kurt below, and be sure to check out the VHS if you're looking to add a furry friend to your family.

VHS Vaccine Clinic

The VHS has several low-cost vaccine clinics coming up!
