Local Breweries

My husband is a huge fan of all beer, and I'm a huge fan of *some* beer.  One thing we both always enjoy is going to local breweries.  When we go out of town, the first thing we do is find the local breweries to check out.  You can learn a lot about a place by the beer that they brew.  Plus local breweries usually have laid-back atmospheres, and you can try beers that are unique to that area. We also are big fans of the local breweries we have around the Evansville area. Coming up in October is a beer festival that will celebrate Indiana breweries while bringing all kinds of fall fun.

Hoosier Hops

The Brewers of Indiana Guild works to support and connect local breweries across the Hoosier state. I had no idea just how big the impact of local breweries has on Indiana. Indiana breweries have an economic impact of more than 1.5 billion dollars.

Did you know that more than 200 craft breweries call Indiana home? Or that 10,000 employees in Indiana’s craft brewing industry create an economic impact of more than $1.5 billion?

Brewing in Indiana is a big deal. When you visit an Indiana brewery, buy Indiana beer instead of a national or imported brand, and attend Brewers of Indiana Guild events, you’re supporting small, local businesses that create some of the finest craft beer in the world.

Coming up the Brewers of Indian Guild are hosting a beer festival that will host only the best in Hoosier hops!

Broad Ripple Beer Fest

This October 14th is the annual Broad Ripple Beer Fest.  The festival will host breweries from all over the state of Indiana.  Of course, since it's October, what's more appropriate than a festival where you can drink beer and go pumpkin bowling all while dressed up in a costume?

Join the nonprofit Brewers of Indiana Guild for its 9th annual fall fundraiser, Broad Ripple Beer Fest, October 14th, 2023  from 1:00 – 6:00 p.m. the Northside Optipark at 780 E 66th St, Indianapolis, IN 46220. This event features dozens of Indiana breweries and guests pouring 100s of Indiana Craft brews, live DJ, local vendors, an epic costume contest, pumpkin bowling, keg toss and more!

Tickets for the Broad Ripple Brew Fest are on sale now, and you can get them here.

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
