Henderson, Kentucky Non-Profit Offering Thanksgiving Meals to Families in Need

The Thanksgiving holiday is a time designed to make us all take a step back from everything we have going on in our lives and be thankful for all the good things we have like our family, our friends, our health, the list goes on and on. For many of us, the holiday also means getting together with those family members and friends and enjoying a big meal complete with turkey and all the fixins. However, as we know, putting together a Thanksgiving meal is difficult for many of our neighbors who deal with food insecurity on a regular basis. Fortunately, The Chloe Randolph Organization in Henderson is stepping up to help.

Thanksgiving Meal Assistance Offered for Henderson Area Families

The Organization will be providing "perishable food items" to families who are unable to afford everything required for a Thanksgiving dinner. While the Organization doesn't specify what those items are, I imagine they include turkey, vegetables, and other traditional Thanksgiving side items.

If you or someone you know is in need of food and would like to take advantage of the Organization's offer, send an e-mail to info@thechloerandolph.org by Friday, November 17th. Food donations will be available for pick up the day before Thanksgiving, Wednesday, November 22nd.

About The Chloe Randolph Organization

The Chloe Randolph Organization was founded by the parents of Henderson resident Chloe Randolph who was found dead in her apartment in March 2019. Her husband, Mohamud Abdikadir, confessed to the crime a few weeks later, and after several continuances and rescheduled court dates, plead guilty to that charge along with two charges of tampering with evidence back in late September. He is currently in prison serving a 20-year sentence.

Determined to not let Chloe simply become another statistic, her parents and close friends saw her tragic death as motivation to help others who find themselves in dangerous relationships. In October 2020, they opened The Chloe Randolph Organization Advocacy Center at 324 1st Street in downtown Henderson. The Center provides a safe space for victims of domestic violence to get the assistance they need to escape the dangerous situation they find themselves in. That help includes counseling, legal assistance, and more.
