Picks & Clicks: Evansville Area Weekend Fun Feb. 27- March 1
Looking for something fun to do this weekend in the Evansville area? Here are a few fun and unique ideas that are worth checking out!
Each week, I'll be bringing you my Picks and Clicks. These are fun events that will be happening in the Evansville area. That could include concerts, festivals, games, or other events going on throughout the week. Likewise, I might throw in some "clicks" along the way. When I say "clicks," I'm talking to the homebodies and folks who just might be interested in going out and about. The clicks might be shows or movies that are now streaming that I feel are worth the watch. Some of them might not be streaming yet, but just came out in the theaters, so you can get your tickets online and "click" your way to the movies.
So, let's check out my Picks and Clicks for February 27th through March 1st in the Evansville area!
Pick 1: Evansville Horror Con
This is going to be a fun one, folks! Evansville Horror Con is coming up February 28th through March 1st at the Old National Events Plaza. This immersive fan experience allows you to meet celebrity guests, get your photo with them, and get an autograph. Something that you ordinarily wouldn't have the opportunity to do in Evansville. On top of the celebrity guests, you can check out unique vendors, cosplay, workshops, and panels, in an environment that makes you feel like you are actually part of the event, not just walking through it. Man, I love Evansville Horror Con!
Pick 2: The Women's Club of Newburgh's 32nd Annual Craft Show
This craft show is a pretty big deal! The Women’s Club of Newburgh has been putting this on for 32 years, and it keeps getting bigger and bigger. Almost 200 vendors will be present. The craft show will be held at Castle High School on February 28th from 9 AM until 3 PM. Learn more in the post below!
Click: Famous Last Words with Eric Dane on Netflix
The Grey’s Anatomy alum, Eric Dane, died on Thursday, February 19th, at the age of 53, just 10 months after publicly revealing his diagnosis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Before he passed away, Dane secretly filmed an interview for Netflix’s new series Famous Last Words last November. My wife and I watched this emotional interview where Dane spoke with Emmy Award winner Brad Falchuk about his life, family, his diagnosis, and more. It was held back and released only after his death. At the end of the conversation, he was left alone with the camera, where he gave his "last words" to his daughters, Billie and Georgia. It's emotional, and it is an interview that I think everyone, not just fans of Dane's, should see. Not just see, but actually hear for several reasons.
