The EVPL is truly a great resource for the community and their "Library of Things" is constantly growing.

The Library is Truly a Gem

I love reading, and recently it's become a part of my daily routine.  Since I'm reading a lot more these days, I began spending a ton of money on books, and then I got a Kindle and was spending way too much on digital books.  So I decided to get a library card, and I was shocked when I realized just how much the Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library has to offer.

First of all, there are digital apps that the library uses that you can rent books through without ever having to leave your house.  I don't buy books for my Kindle anymore, because I can rent e-books to read on my Kindle through the EVPL.  I also love audiobooks, I've since canceled my Audible membership because thanks to the Libby and Hoopla apps (both are free services with your library card) I have access to all the books I could ever want.  Oh and tired of paying for streaming services?  With your EVPL card you can access a free streaming service called Kanopy.

The EVPL Library of Things

When you think of a library you typically think of books, but libraries are so much more than just books.  The EVPL doesn't just have a library of books, they also have a Library of Things. The Library of Things are items you can borrow with your EVPL card.

Do you feel like trying out kayaking this weekend, but don't want to buy a kayak?  You can rent an inflatable kayak through the library.  Maybe you want to host an outdoor movie night this summer, you can rent a projector and screen from the library.   These are just a couple of examples from the EVPL Library of Things.
