Currently, there is a pending bill in Illinois that proposes a ban on persons under 18 years of age from using indoor tanning beds. Governor Pat Quinn has until Saturday to decide on signing the bill - many media outlets expect that he will sign.

The American Academy of Dermatology estimates that one in five people will get skin cancer in their lifetime. Childhood is the prime time when skin is growing developing and the most susceptible to damage by ultra violet radiation. Unfortunately, society standards equate tan skin with beauty and youth so many youths. Melanoma is the most common form of cancer for young adults 25-29 years old and the second most common form of cancer for adolescents and young adults 15-29 years old.

Do you think that that tanning beds should be off limits to those under 18 since we know that it's so dangerous to young people or would this just be another freedom taken from us?
