Okay, let's be real for a moment. I have a weird thing going on that usually rears its ugly head in summer. I only sweat under one arm. The other arm, well dry as a bone. Weird, I know! And when I'm stressed out, no antiperspirant is a match for that armpit!

Here at Townsquare Media, we often receive station shirts to wear and one particular shirt is made of this synthetic material that is soft but holds the funk - even after laundering. So, I took to the internet to find a solution to my problem. I tried adding Borax and baking soda to the laundry. I used "smell deodorizing" fabric softener. I even soaked my shirt in detergent and water but nothing seemed to work. Then, I discovered that vinegar neutralizes smells. I mean I kind of already knew this but didn't think about soaking my shirt in vinegar. So, I mixed 3/4 of a gallon of water with 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar and soaked the shirt for 15 minutes before laundering. It WORKED! I found out you can also use white vinegar. And, if you have a really bad smell, you can soak it for 15-30 minutes in undiluted water. I didn't want to chance that it would ruin the fabric so I tried the minimum first.

Then, I poured all the vinegar water into the wash and let it work its magic on all my family's summer clothes!
