Evansville Family Offering Reward for Information on a Recent Home Invasion
The family of a man that was brutally beaten during a home invasion, earlier this month, is now offering a $2,000 reward for information that may lead to the arrest and conviction of the guilty parties.
According to a press release issued by the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office, on February 12th at approximately 1:30 AM, Rami Jawabreh was severely beaten at his Mission Viejo apartment after he answered the door for two females who were frantically knocking and calling out for someone by name.
After Jawabreh answered the door, a masked assailant hit him in the head numerous times with a handgun, while another armed assailant entered the house and held Jawabreh’s girlfriend at gunpoint - both assailants were male.
Nothing was stolen from the apartment and the four immediately took off on foot following the brief assault, according to a police report. So far, no reason for the attack has been determined. “Based on what we have now, this is an extremely disturbing case,” says Sheriff Eric Williams. “There is no apparent motive for what was a vicious attack.”
If you have any information regarding this incident, you are asked to contact Detective Randy Chapman at the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office - 421-6344.
