The Indiana State Board of Education announced the scheduling of community conversations for schools that have received failing accountability grades for five consecutive years. Indiana State Law requires the Board to hold public hearings at each school to hear from community and school leaders about ideas to help students in these schools improve their educational performance.

Two schools from the EVSC will be a part of these meetings. Students, parents, educators and members of the community are invited to be a part of the conversation. Board members want to hear what it's like to attend and work at these schools. They want to know what could be improved and what can be done to make sure that every child in these schools receives a high-quality education. The meetings are designed as opportunities for members of the State Board of Education to listen to voices in the community. No decisions will be made at the meeting.
