Evansville Police are asking for your help in identifying the suspect who pulled into the parking lot of the Sarto Catholic Retreat on North Kentucky Avenue on the city's north side and knocked over a statue of the Virgin Mary earlier this week.

The incident took place around 10:00 p.m. Saturday night. Surveillance footage shows a car pulling into the lot and coming to a stop before what appears to be a man stepping out of the vehicle, walking over to the statue and shoving it to the ground. The individual casually walks back to the car, gets in and pulls away.

Unfortunately, the statue is a decent distance away from the camera, and making out any body or facial features of the suspect is nearly impossible. This has led police to focus more on the vehicle in hopes someone may recognize it and lead them to the person responsible.

The Department released two photos from that footage late Wednesday morning on Facebook.
