School is officially back in session for the 2017 school year, but unfortunately, many kids in Evansville, Newburgh, and Boonville don't have the supplies they need to succeed in the classroom. But with your help, the Salvation Army of Evansville is looking to change that.

The non-profit organization is currently accepting donations of school supplies at their office located at 1040 North Fulton Avenue in Evansville, as well as monetary donations, which according to a post on their Facebook page Tuesday can be done without leaving your house!

Donations can be done securely simply by texting "kids1" to 41444, or through the Salvation Army website. Monetary donations will also be accepted at their offices.

With most supplies (pencils, paper, pens, notebooks, etc.) costing only a couple of dollars each, and in some cases less than a dollar, even a donation of five to ten bucks can make a world of difference!
