The Evansville Water and Sewer Utility will close a majority of Waterworks Road beginning Tuesday to allow a contractor the opportunity to conduct water and soil sampling for an upcoming project, according to Eyewitness News.

The closure will begin at the entrance to Marina Pointe, with signs will be posted at the intersection of Waterworks and Veterans Memorial Parkway (a.k.a. I-69), as well as the Waterworks and Highway 41 intersection.

Despite the sign at Waterworks and I-69, residents will still have access to Kid's Kingdom park, and Marina Pointe which is also home to Tiki Bar, and the LST warship.

Work is expected to be completed by August 6th.

The City of Evansville suggests drivers take Highway 41 to I-69 in order to enter downtown and the riverfront.
