If you or someone you know missed a court date in Vanderburgh County and it has led to a warrant, TODAY is the day that you can have that warrant lifted.

According to the Vanderburgh County Prosecutor's Office, there are more than 12,000 warrants in Vanderburgh County alone. Most of the time they are for missing a court date, although they may be for other reasons such as owing child support or probation violations. The event will allow citizens to avoid being arrested for their warrant and given a new court date that they are required to attend.

People with active warrants can come to Courtroom 110 in the judicial side of the Civic Center 9 a.m. - noon TODAY to have their warrant lifted and new court dates scheduled. It should be noted that the event is only for warrants in misdemeanor, level 5 and level 6 felony charges. Although those who come to the event will not be arrested, their charges will not be dropped.
