USI vs. UE in the Vectren Community Classic at the Ford Center

Indiana is known as a state that loves its basketball. Here is your chance to prove that perception right, and come out to the Ford Center on Saturday for this cross-town rivalry between the USI Screamin' Eagles and the UE Purple Aces.

The first Vectren Community Classic took place in 2004 and saw UE win by a score of 88-75. The second matchup was in 2006, and despite taking a loss, the Eagles only lost by two points. And in the most recent meeting, in 2008, the Eagles took the Aces into double overtime before losing 71-67. So what will happen in this 4th meeting between the Division 2 Eagles and the Division 1 Aces? And you know the rivalry doesn't stop with just the athletic division. It's also a public school versus a private school...and most importantly, it's west side versus east side. If you know Evansville, then you know that is the biggest rivalry in town.

USI is coming off another 20+ win season, which included winning the 2012 GLVC Tournament. Coach Rodney Watson's Eagles will show off a slew of new players this season.
