INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Governor Mike Pence has tapped a new executive director for the Indiana Department of Homeland Security. David Kane has served as federal security director for the U.S. Transportation Security Administration since 2005. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security appointed him as the federal coordinating official for the 2012 Super Bowl in Indianapolis. He replaces John Hill.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana gas utilities are encouraging eligible customers to apply for government energy assistance and home weatherization. Enrollment for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance is available to households falling within 150 percent of federal poverty guidelines. Vectren says its Indiana customers who enroll receive an automatic 15 to 32 percent discount on their bills from December to May.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana's attorney general is reminding political candidates that using robocall technology is illegal in the state. Greg Zoeller (ZEHL'-ur) says disregarding the law can lead to his office filing a lawsuit seeking civil penalties up to $5,000 per violation against those responsible. Indiana residents who receive robocalls can file a complaint with the attorney general's Consumer Protection Division.
