Robin Williams’ Cause of Death Released

It is with a heavy heart that we report today that Robin Williams’ cause of death has been released today. According to a news release issued by the Marin County, CA, Sheriff’s Office, the beloved actor hanged himself in his California home – his body found on Monday at about 11:55 a.m. by a personal assistant. He was pronounced dead at 12:02 p.m. PT. by firefighters. The statement goes into detail about Mr. Williams’ death including a report that several acute superficial transverse cuts were found on his left wrist with a closed pocket knife located close to Mr. Williams.

“He has been battling severe depression of late,” his publicist told ABC News. “This is a tragic and sudden loss.”
