In our 4G world, the internet connection you can get on your cellphone is almost as good as the one on your home computer or laptop.

According to a new survey from the Pew Research Center, this is changing the way people surf the web.

The poll of 2,254 adult cell phone owners found that 55 percent use their device to go online, which is up from the 31 percent who did so in 2009.

In fact, of those 55 percent, 31 percent use their cell phone for most of their web browsing. This percentage is even higher among 18-to-29 year-olds (45 percent), African Americans (51 percent) and Latino cell internet users (42 percent).
