Keep Evansville Beautiful

Volunteers with Clean Evansville will be on the city’s East Side this Saturday, August 3rd, from 8am-10am picking up litter in neighborhoods near Wesselman Park to help spruce-up the area in time for the annual National Night Out on August 6.

April will be a very busy month for Clean Evansville and Keep Evansville Beautiful with two events. Mayor Lloyd Winnecke is encouraging all local residents to kick-start the year-long Great American Clean-up this Saturday, April 6, by picking up trash citywide, plus turn out en mass for clean-ups targeting five neighborhoods in conjunction with Global Youth Service Day 2013 on April 27.

The Academy for Innovative Studies and New Tech Institute have been declared co-winners of the first-ever “Operation Hot Mess” high school litter competition. The schools will receive a free party for recruiting the highest percentage of volunteers to pick-up trash based on student enrollment.

Students at Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation high schools will be pitching in to help clean up the city when a competition designed for them kicks off on Saturday, Oct. 13, announced Mayor Lloyd Winnecke and EVSC Superintendent David Smith today.

Normally the first Saturday of every month is the time when volunteers are invited to join Mayor Winnecke and the Clean Evansville team to help pick up trash around Evansville. Due the Labor Day holiday weekend, the September event has been pushed back one week to September 8th.

Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke and the folks from Keep Evansville Beautiful are again asking you to do your part and help out with the Clean Evansville Initiative. The Clean Evansville events happen on the first Saturday of every month, and with a quick glance at your calendar you'll realize that the next event is this Saturday (8/4).
