Caves

It's one of the more interesting Native American legends in Illinois. It's a cave that stories say once was home to a massive bird known as the Piasa.

It appears there are still some among us that consider themselves modern day Tom Sawyers and Huck Finns. Explorers found unmapped caves in southwestern Missouri with dead snake skeletons inside.

When It comes to caves, I am all in. I love them. Well, unless they are very small caves that I have to crawl into and out of, don't like those. Last year, I came across a huge cave in the middle of 107 acres of beautiful hills and woods in Eastern Kentucky...

Animal bones, possibly dating as far back as the ice age, were recently discovered beneath the Binkley Cave system in Southern Indiana. The well-preserved collection of animal skeletons is "one of the largest and best preserved deposits of Ice Age bones yet discovered in Indiana," said Ron Richards, a chief curator at the Indiana State Museum in Indianapolis.
