Thankfully, the mud has been cleared, and the fireworks show go on! The German American Bank Historic Newburgh Fireworks and Evening in the Park will be held this Saturday, August 31, 2019

It's a fun community celebration with lots of food, a beer garden, a community concert by the Old Dam Band and fireworks on the riverfront!

5:00 PM - Evening in the Park begins

6:00 PM - Old Dam Band Concert

7:00 PM – Proclamation, Flag Raising & National Anthem

7:15 PM – Performance from The Bad Hats in the beer garden

9:00 PM – Fireworks

Did you know that most of the food booths at the event are run by non-profit organizations?  This year there will be more organizations than ever hosting a booth to fundraise for their projects. We encourage you to make an evening of it and have dinner, play some games and listen to some music.

We've changed parking and shuttle information this year to help ease congestion. Park at Sharon Elementary School or Abundant Life Community Church across from Sharon Elementary for a shuttle bus to take you to the riverfront. Shuttle buses start running at 5:00pm. WATS bus shuttles are handicapped accessible. There will be NO shuttle buses running from Newburgh Elementary School, People’s Bank or Zion UCC this year. If you choose to park there, take your time and enjoy the beautiful walk along the riverfront!

The Newburgh boat ramp will close at 12pm on August 31 and Highway 662 (French Island Trail) will close at 3pm so the event set up may be finalized safely.  Please be aware that Water Street will be closed completely to traffic this year starting at 4pm.  No pets or personal fireworks including sparklers will be allowed in the event area.

VIP Buttons are still on sale!  Fireworks Buttons are available at the Newburgh Bell Oaks German American Banking location, the Historic Newburgh Visitors Center, Flutter, The Refinery, Cleo’s Bakery, Newburgh Town Hall and R4 Design, and Honeysuckle Finds.

In addition to access to the VIP area, the purchase of these buttons by the community helps underwrite this annual summer event.  The sale of the buttons provides a portion of the fireworks budget.  Please do your part and help support this annual community event.
