The Board of Public Works just approved a brand-new transit app and bus tracking system for the Metropolitan Evansville Transit System (METS), set to roll out on January 2, 2025. This user-friendly upgrade is packed with features that will make getting around town easier than ever before!

With the new app, passengers will have all the info they need right at their fingertips. Wondering which stop you need to catch your connecting bus? Or curious about how crowded your ride will be? The app has you covered! It will provide real-time updates on bus routes, including any closures, detours, and arrival times, so you'll always be in the know. Gone are the days of guessing when your bus will arrive—this app will take the guesswork out of your daily commute.

Todd Robertson, Executive Director of Transportation & Services says...

This new system will offer a huge upgrade for our riders. Passengers will no longer have to take risks guessing their stops, and we will be able to be more efficient in building routes we know are the ones people need. This technology will make commuting more efficient and accessible for all Evansville residents.

But that’s not all! The new system will also feature audio and visual announcements on every bus, with speakers and scrolling screens keeping you informed about your next stop. Plus, you can even set notifications on your phone to let you know when you’re approaching your destination.
