Get ready for some fun in the sun because summertime is almost here! Luckily, Daviess County is home to many splash pads, spray parks, and pools. Earlier this month, officials announced the opening dates of places to cool off for free.
If you're looking for something fun to do in Owensboro this summer, you need to check out area parks. There are so many to choose from that your kids will love. Smothers Park Lazy Dayz Playground in Downtown Owensboro is ranked the second-best attraction by tourists on Tripadvisor. It was named the top playground in the world by Landscape Architect’s Network in 2015. Since its renovation and re-opening in August 2012, it's been the go-to spot to beat the heat. Are you ready to splash away this summer? Daviess County Parks & Recreation and Owensboro Parks and Recreation will open their spray parks and public pools for the season on May 25th, 2024. What a great way to celebrate Memorial Day Weekend! The spray parks are open to the public, free of charge. There's a small fee to use the pools.
