SPARKY’s Bark in Style: Owensboro’s Most Adorable Fashion Show Returns!
SPARKY's Annual Fundraiser is one of the cutest nights of the year! It's a fun evening of fashion, delicious food, drinks, and adoptable rescue pets strutting their stuff. The Bark in Style Fashion Show is hosted to raise money for Saving Paws Animal Rescue of Kentucky.
SPARKY Pet of the Week
Every Thursday morning at the studio here in Owensboro, we host our SparKy Pet of the Week thanks to our friends at Rhoads & Rhoads. We are all huge animal lovers here and want to do whatever we can to help find them homes.
SparKy stands for Saving Paws Animal Rescue of Kentucky and they are a local non-profit shelter that takes in stray cats and dogs from Daviess County and surrounding counties. Founded by our friends Bridget and John Austin in 2006, the rescue operates solely from the generosity of donors and volunteers.
Ensuring all animals who find their way to SparKy are healthy and happy, vets and caregivers take on even the most heartbreaking cases. Like my sweet boy Duane I took home a few months ago after falling in love with him one Thursday morning. Last year, Duane and I joined the other models wearing clothes from local boutiques as we walked the runway.
I was in a gown from Regiss Bridal & Prom and Duane wore a bowtie made by his Mimi. Chad was the fabulous emcee for the evening as everyone enjoyed a delicious meal and cocktails. There were also lots of wonderful silent auction items to bid on. It was such a fun evening of supporting a great cause.
This year, SPARKY Bark in Style will be held at Reid's Orchard on April 26th beginning at 5 PM. Cocktail hour and silent auction begin right away followed by dinner thanks to McHenry Catering. This year, the fashion show will feature outfits from Boutique 54, Byron & Barclay, Confetti Boutique, Embellish, Regiss, and The Golf Emporium.
