
This Italian Beef Recipe Will Score a Touchdown With Your Football Party Guests
With the Big Game just a couple of weeks away, you may be already planning the menu for your big football party. Jim Gilles, from Hill View Farms Meats in Owensboro, KY, has cooked up a sandwich recipe guaranteed to score a touchdown with your guests.
For reference, Jim adapted this recipe from his mom, who used to make similar sandwiches for Jim and his siblings when they were younger. Here's how to make Christy's Italian Beef Sandwiches.
CHRISTY'S ITALIAN BEEF SANDWICHES
3.5 to 4 pounds Hill View Farms Arm Roast
1/2 teaspoon Spicewalla onion salt
1/2 teaspoon Spicewalla garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon Spicewalla oregano
1/2 teaspoon Spicewalla sweet basil
1/2 teaspoon Spicewalla Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
1 teaspoon Accent
1 teaspoon all season pepper
FOR SANDWICHES
Terrapin Ridge Jalapeno Aioli
Nanas Banana Pepper Mustard
Italian-seasoned chopped pepperoncinis
1 8-ounce block Country View Monterey Jack Cheese- shredded
Fischer Farms micro greens
12 count Hawaiian rolls
DIRECTIONS FOR BEEF:
1) Cook or bake roast (over or slow cooker).
2) After the roast has cooked, take 1.5 cups of broth from cooked roast and add to a saucepan.
3) Add 1 cup of water to saucepan along with all seasonings.
4) Bring to a boil.
5) Shred or slice meat thin.
6) Pour mixture over meat and bake for 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
7) Serve over mashed potatoes or use to make sandwiches.

DIRECTIONS FOR SANDWICHES:
1) Cut rolls in half and place in a 9x13 baking dish.
2) Spread banana pepper mustard over the bottom half of rolls.
3) Layer micro greens on bottom half of rolls.
4) Sprinkle desired number of pepperoncinis over micro greens.
5) Add generous amount of meat mixture to rolls.
6) Sprinkle 8 ounces of the shredded cheese and drizzle jalapeno aioli to liking.
7) Place top half of the rolls back and cover with foil.
8) Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove foil and bake for an additional 2 minutes to brown rolls.
9) Cut and serve warm. Can use seasoning mixture as an au jus dipping sauce as well.
