A Simple Recipe For Stuffed Jalapenos You’ll Love
If you love jalapenos, you're going to love this. I am actually NOT a huge fan of peppers, but I'm kinda in love with this recipe too. Jim Gilles, from Hill View Farms Meats in Owensboro, KY, has created a recipe for Easy Stuffed Jalapenos. I was fully expecting to breathing fire when I tried these. Instead, I was singing Jim's culinary praises. These are really good.
Here's how to make them!
EASY STUFFED JALAPENOS
1 pound Hill View Farms sausage
1 8oz cream cheese, softened
2 cups Country View Creamery Shredded marble cheese
32 fresh jalapeno peppers, washed, halved and seeded
1 tablespoon Hill View Farms Smokehouse BBQ Seasoning

DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees.
2. Brown sausage in skillet and drain. **You'll find that farm fresh meats generate far less grease than your average store-bought brands.
3. Combine shredded cheese, seasoning and cream cheese.
4. Add semi-cooled sausage to cheese mixture and mix well.
5. Fill half a jalapeno with a good amount of the cheese and sausage mixture. It's okay to 'mound' mixture. After all, the more the tastier and merrier.
6. Put filled jalapenos on a cooking sheet or pan.
7. Bake for 10 minutes until filling is lightly brown and peppers become crisp. That's right! This dish requires just 10 minutes of baking time.
8. Serve warm or cooled. Jim says they can be refrigerated ahead of time and cooked to order.
After sampling the Easy Stuffed Jalapenos this morning, we decided that they're perfect for any meal really. Honestly, the stuffing resembles a breakfast casserole. Of course, the pepper gives it a little more heat- just enough kick.
Jim mentioned that he designed the recipe with football tailgating in mind. If you don't have an oven handy at the game, you could easily fire up the grill.
