Watch a Shelter Dog Unlock His Gate, the Front Door, and Escape
I've watched my cat do back flips on the kitchen floor. I'm not kidding. I never saw it coming (who would?), so my phone wasn't ready. And she's older now and can't jump up on my car, so I don't expect her to pull a Simone Biles ever again.
Despite her impressive agility at the time, I'm not 100% sure her feat would land a featured spot on America's Funniest Home Videos. However, if she were to pull off what this shelter dog pulled off, she'd have an argument.
Shelter Dog Unlocks Gate, Front Door and Escapes
The pooch of which I am speaking is named Rufus, and he has mad skills and showed them off recently at a Huntington, West Virginia kennel, we'd have to re-evaluate her skills. I'm not good at identifying dog breeds, but I know enough to recognize that this is a black lab. (Unless I'm wrong.) Anyway, Rufus managed to undo the gate clip of his kennel pen, much to the consternation of the shelter director, make his way to the lobby, unlock the front door, and escape.
If kept reading, you know that Rufus made it home safely, and all is right with the world.
Chase Escapes from Kentucky Shelter
Maybe there's something in the water(bowl) in this region of the country. Last summer, Chase pulled a similar Houdini act at a Kentucky shelter.
Going forward, whenever I see a product, or whatever, advertised as "pet proof," I'm going to ask, "Are you sure?"
